It was a slow week, but here’s your weekly wrap-up!

EVO Wrap-Up Part 3
I finally managed to get the 3rd (and biggest) part of the EVO wrap-up finished. Look forward to the next one sometime in the coming week! I’ve learned quite the lesson in doing this entire write-up: never do a 4-part long form article again.

Phantasy Star Online 2
Sega has announced that they will be bringing their free-to-play MMORPG Phantasy Star Online 2 to the PlayStation 4 “sometime in 2016.” Unfortunately for avid Phantasy Star fans (like Lee), a North American release has yet to be confirmed or even hinted at by Sega. At one point the game was planned for a Windows PC release on our shores and was even playable at events back in 2012. While Sega hasn’t ruled out a release, it’s debut in North America appears to be delayed indefinitely. Currently Phantasy Star Online 2 is playable on Windows PC and PlayStation Vita in Japan and Southeastern Asia.

The Call of Duty Black Ops III Beta is now LIVE on PlayStation 4!
Emails containing codes are rolling out now if you have preordered in store or digitally. Their first beta since World at War in 2008, developer Treyarch is including access to a handful of specialists, weapons and a variety of core modes before ending access on August 23rd. Keep it locked to TBA and we’ll distribute any codes that we have available!

Triple Triad is now available!
Officially released in the Final Fantasy Portal app, Final Fantasy VIII’s card minigame is now available. It’s been updated to include cards based on protagonists from the all of Final Fantasy. Solo and versus play modes are available, simple to learn, and extremely addicting. FFXIV players have already been reliving the excitement as Triple Triad was included in the recent Golden Saucer update. Here’s hoping FFIX’s card game, ‘Tetra Master’, follows suit. (Don’t forget to download your free copy of ‘Final Fantasy’ on the Portal app prior to August 31st)

Happy 20th Birthday, Chrono Trigger!
August 22nd marked the 20th anniversary of Chrono Trigger’s launch in North America! Happy (North American) birthday, Chrono Trigger! We’re dying to know if, and when, Chrono Break will ever happen though…

That’s it for this week! We hope you’ve had a great weekend, everybody!
