It’s been a bizarre week for us here at TBA, but one thing remains certain: we’re committed to bringing you (our fans) the best news & content that we can. With that being said, here’s a quick wrap-up of what you may have missed this week!
RIP Fire Emblem 3DS
It’s with sad news that I must announce the death of my limited edition Fire Emblem 3DS. My dog, Koba, decided that it was a chew toy after she climbed a bookshelf to get it. I’m not sure how she managed this feat, but it simultaneously impressed and upset me.
Resident Evil 2 Remake
Despite my repeated cries for a new legitimate Megaman game, Capcom has pulled the trigger on a Resident Evil 2 remake. If this is anything like the work that they put in on RE1, I think we can all expect great things.
You can’t complain if you don’t vote!
On Wednesday, Sony announced their three video game contenders for PSN Plus subscribers to receive free next month. Voting is now open and ends August 24th. You’re able to “Vote to Play” for Zombie Vikings, Armello, or Grow Home. Each representing a different genre being a four-player brawler, board game-esque experience, and an action platformer respectively. Votes must be cast directly on a PS4 console.
Fallout Shelter comes to Android
Bethesda’s fantastic vault Overseer simulator ‘Fallout Shelter’ is now available on Android devices absolutely free! It’s launching with numerous improvements that will also be available in the 1.1 update of the iOS version. Be sure to arm your dwellers and remember… Don’t feed the Yao Guai!
Local and looking for a (video game) fight?
“Chip Damage and Games on Campus, is proud to present Manitoba’s largest annual fighting game tournament! This is the one you’ve all been waiting for: all the games you love jammed into an action packed two day event at the University of Manitoba.”

Attention: Destiny Players
Xur, the exotic weapon and armor merchant, is back in the ‘bar’ area of The Tower with a backpack full of Gjallarhorns. To those unaware, the Gjallarhorn is a Rocket Launcher considered to be the most powerful weapon currently available in the game. Xur has carried it once before, only a week or so into Destiny’s release, when many players couldn’t afford it’s 17 Strange Coin price tag. Even though there are plans to nerf the Gjallarhorn later this year it’s absolutely still worth picking up if you play the game regularly. Happy hunting, Guardians.
Note: At the time of this posting, Xur will likely no longer be at The Tower. We apologize that Bungie (and Xur) can’t operate on a sensible time schedule for Guardians playing on the weekend.
That about does it for this week. Keep it locked to our Facebook page or check back here every Sunday for any major news that you may have missed! Something big that we missed? Let us know in the comments below!
